  • How it all started

    I'm Maria, veterinary nurse and I've been an animal lover my whole life.I stopped eating animals when I was 16 because, honestly, how could I care so deeply about them and then go home and eat them? It just didn't make sense.

    Fast forward to life with my two cats, Mochi and Nova. At some point  feeding them started to feel... wrong. I'd look at the ingredients in their food and think, "Wait, what actually is this?" And more importantly — did it have to come from other animals? We were all told cats have to eat meat.

    So I started digging. Reading studies, talking to vets, testing different foods, staying up way too late researching nutrition. We made the switch to vegan dry food, and honestly? The cats were thriving. But then I hit a wall — there just wasn't enough variety, if any ,  in wet food options. I wanted to give Mochi and Nova more choice, more flavours, more of what they deserved.

    That's when it clicked: if I couldn't find it, maybe I needed to create it myself. What began as me just trying to make better food for my own cats turned into something bigger. I realized I wasn't alone in wanting this — and if I was going to go through all this effort, why not share it with other cat parents who felt the same way?

  • The Heart Behind it All

    Here's what I know to be true: animals feel. They love. They grieve. They remember.

    I've seen it with Mochi and Nova, and with every animal I've ever known. Science is finally backing up what those of us who love animals have always known.

    That's why OM Pets exists. Not because it's trendy or clever marketing — but because I genuinely believe we can care for our pets in a way that doesn't harm other animals. And honestly? That just feels right.

  • Why I'm Doing This

    🌱 The future is plant-powered — yes, even for cats.

    I'm working on developing my own recipes with vets and nutritionists (it's a process, but it's happening!). In the meantime, I'm proud to stock brands that are already doing incredible work in this space. Because this isn't about me being the only one — it's about all of us moving forward together.
